Hi, I’m Kath Mclean.

As a photographer, I’m lucky enough to meet people at some of the most joyful times in their lives: their wedding magic day, the arrival of a new baby, a family’s expansion, watching their children giggle and play. I believe that capturing these moments should be just as much fun.

I’ve worked for more than 20 years as a professional photographer but I initially got hooked on this magical artform at the age of eight, when my granddad, Stan, gave me my first camera. And although I’ve explored many types of photography since then, it’s the connections and interactions between families that I most love to document.

My specialities are wedding photography, pregnancy & newborn photography, together with lifestyle family portraits. A shoot with me typically takes an hour, to keep everyone engaged and in good spirits.

As a mum of two daughters, I know all the tricks to help children feel comfortable during a photoshoot, so their little personalities can really shine. Thanks to my calm and easygoing nature, even older children and dads enjoy the experience of a family portrait!

A session with me feels like spending time with a friend who just happens to have a camera. I like to work in your home or outside in a place that feels connected to you, to make the most of Sydney’s beautiful natural environment. My photographs have a classic, timeless aesthetic so that you can enjoy them – and the memories they inspire – for many years to come.
